Seit Windows Vista gibt es sogenannte Gadgets oder auch Widgets für den Desktop des Betriebssystems. Sie sind dazu da bestimmte Dinge anzuzeigen, zum Beispiel die aktuelle Uhrzeit oder das Wetter. Gegenwärtig gibt es eine Vielzahl von Gadgets manche nützlicher als andere. Ich halte die Gadgets, die Betriebssystemfunktionen oder Systemzustände anzeigen für besonders hilfreich, denn damit habe ich schnellen Zugriff auf Informationen, die ich sofort haben möchte, beispielsweise CPU-, RAM- oder Netzwerkauslastung und freier Festplatten-Speicher. Darüberhinaus gibt es noch viel mehr das ich mir anzeigen lassen kann, allerdings sind die meisten weiteren Gadgets mehr Spielerei und lenken von dem was wichtig ist ab. Chip hat ganz gute Gadgets ins Download-Angebot aufgenommen. Sie sind zu empfehlen.
