Retirement of Skype for Business Server connections to Microsoft Teams Rooms

Microsoft Teams Rooms are (still) able to connect to Skype for Business server. However, the feature is getting deprecated and retired soon with the Teams Rooms on Windows version 4.19. In the announcement Microsoft mentions that only a small number of customers are running Skype for Business Server on-premises and would be affected. The change will take effect from October 1, 2023. The new Teams Rooms on Windows version 4.19 will remove the legacy connection methods:

  • Skype for Business only
  • Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams (default)
  • Skype for Business (default) and Microsoft Teams

Furthermore, any other remaining and related Skype for Business settings on Teams Rooms will be removed and vanish. Also the ones for setting up Teams Rooms.
