Impact of URL Rewriting on Microsoft Teams Meeting Links

Microsoft announced that Microsoft Teams meeting join links are validated. This is important to know if you have any mail security, proxy, or firewall in place that rewrites URLs. If meeting join links are rewritten and the check confirms this, the meeting join will probably fail. Rewritten meeting join URLs will be marked as malicious and opening the meeting link may be prevented. For wordwide Microsoft 365 tenants, this change will take effect after September 30, 2025, when the rollout will have started. So you should ensure that there is no rewriting for these links and consider to configure a exception if there is any rewriting in place for the Microsoft Teams meeting join URLs.
