In this post I like to highlight another exciting update to Microsoft 365 Copilot: users get enabled to create apps and workflows directly inside the tools they already use every day. This makes Copilot not only to a powerful productivity assistant but also an app builder innovation platform?! As the announcement states the following features will come to Microsoft 365 Copilot:
- App & Workflow Creation: Users can now design custom apps and automate workflows without needing advanced coding skills. Copilot translates natural language prompts into functional solutions.
- Seamless Integration: These apps and workflows connect effortlessly with Microsoft 365 tools like Teams, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint, ensuring that solutions live where work already happens.
- Low-Code/No-Code Accessibility: By lowering the technical barrier, Copilot empowers employees across all departments – not just IT – to solve problems and streamline processes.
- Enterprise-Grade Governance: IT administrators retain control with built-in compliance, security, and management features, ensuring that innovation doesn’t compromise organizational standards.

What’s the Benefit for Users?
- Personal Productivity Boost: Individuals can automate repetitive tasks (e.g., scheduling, reporting, approvals) with simple prompts, freeing up time for higher-value work.
- Empowered Creativity: Employees can experiment with new ideas and quickly prototype solutions without waiting for developer resources.
- Ease of Use: Natural language interaction means anyone can build—no steep learning curve required.
What’s the Value for Organizations?
- Scalable Innovation: Businesses can tap into the creativity of their entire workforce, not just IT or development teams.
- Faster Time-to-Value: Custom solutions can be built and deployed in days, not months, accelerating digital transformation.
- Cost Efficiency: Reduces reliance on external development resources while maximizing the ROI of Microsoft 365 investments.
- Governance & Security: Centralized oversight ensures compliance with corporate policies and industry regulations.
Conclusion, opinion and summary
Microsoft 365 Copilot bringts solution-building to users, enabling every employee to become a creator. For companies, this could means more agility, faster problem-solving, and a culture of continuous improvement? Microsoft 365 Copilot could be also a platform for innovation at scale, bridging the gap between everyday users and enterprise-grade app development? At least that are the thoughts behind it but first of all, we’ll have to evaluate it and see how the quality is like and if it really works as we expect is based on the announcement because the Power Plattform was also introduced that every user could become a citizen developer but in my experience most users and companies still do not use the tool in-depth to streamline processes based on the low code/no code platform, do they?
