Microsoft Outlook for Windows Introduces Shared Mailboxes as Accounts

Managing shared mailboxes in Outlook for Windows is about to become more convenient. Microsoft is rolling out a new feature that allows shared mailbox users and delegates to add the mailbox as an account, streamlining access and settings management.

Starting in May 2025, this update will be gradually deployed through August 2025. Users with Full Access will notice a new ‘Promote’ button, enabling them to seamlessly add the shared mailbox as an account within Outlook. Importantly, no administrative action is required for this change—making adoption simple and hassle-free.
