Die Vorabversionen sind seit einer Weile online für die Öffentlichkeit verfügbar. Gegenwärtig läuft auf meinem System Firefox 4 und Internet Explorer 9. Beide Browser sind sehr gut. Einziges Manko beim IE 9 ist die integrierte Suchleiste, d. h. Adressleiste und Suchleiste sind eins. Das ist etwas unpraktisch, weil der Browser bei der Eingabe zuerst eine möglichst ähnliche Adresse sucht und erst wenn er keine findet wird der Begriff an eine Suchmaschine gegeben. Der IE 9 hat verglichen mit der Vorgängerversion IE 8 sehr stark aufgeholt und kann vielleicht auch wieder bei Nutzern anderer Browser punkten. Wobei hier noch Plugins wie es sie für den Firefox oder andere Browser gibt fehlen. Doch Microsoft holt mit dem IE 9 auf.
