This post is about a planned and new calling capability for Teams devices to work together more seamlessly in regards of calling. Microsoft is planning to release better together capabilities for Microsoft Teams calling or telephony based on Microsoft 365 roadmap feature ID 84308. It is intended to enable users for more seamless telephony experience across devices (PC, phones, displays).

Conclusion, opinion and summary

What this means in detail is not yet clear, to me. The feature description lacks of detail in my opinion. However, I’d assume that it could be similar to what we have seen in the past with Skype for Business Enterprise Voice and the Better Together over Ethernet (BToE) capabilities there. This could offer a more flexible way to cope with calls to make and receive calls on the devices which are available and transfer it from a user’s personal device A to B and the other way around.
