In this post I like to quickly note an upcoming Microsoft Teams feature which enables users to start a chat with distribution groups. The recent Microsoft 365 roadmap shows that users should be able to chat to distribution, mail-enabled security and Microsoft 365 groups. As you can read in the details the feature is scheduled to get into general availability in (probably) November 2022 and allow so chat with up to 250 members.
