From November 2nd to 4th, 2021 this fall’s Microsoft Ignite will take place online. Ignite is the technology conference by Microsoft targeting mainly IT professionals but not only. It offers loads of technical news and contents to learn, connect and discuss in order to apply new technology or utilize new platform capabilities in order to achieve more with the right approach for your organization.
At the moment, September 27, 2021 the session catalog was not yet available but I’m confident that it will become available soon. That will be the time at which you can start to check out which sessions and topics are for you.
Conclusion, opinion and summary
I’m looking forward to sessions regarding hybrid work, modern workplace, productivity, communication and collaboration. I.e. especially all around Teams, Viva, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business and Exchange Online.
Furthermore, I can imagine and guess that we might also hear something about the on-premises Office app servers like Skype for Business Server vNext, Exchange Server vNext and SharePoint Server vNext. Although I expect these three on-premises Office app servers to be minor topics at the digital event, if they are at all a topic, because it is not a modern cloud collaboration topic at all and (hopefully) the last Office app servers version. For the servers I’m not really expecting new features except a new modern GUI. We shall see.
